Dr. Kim Gillies is a chiropractor who loves working with her patients. She started Village Chiropractic in 1999 and strives to help patients reduce pain, gain movement, strength, and improve their function in daily life.
Dr. Gillies listens, examines, and provides a diagnosis and care for the body’s nerves, muscles, and joints. Her evidence-based treatment could involve education, advice, muscular therapy, joint manipulation or mobilization, and rehabilitative exercise.
She has completed further certification in rehabilitation and Active Release muscular treatment.
In addition to clinical private practice, Dr. Gillies also serves as an Advanced Practice Provider for the Rapid Access Clinic for Low Back Pain Central West program, funded by the Government of Ontario. This program provides a shared-care approach for patients. Family physicians or nurse practitioners refer patients to the program designed to provide assessment, education, advice, referral for MRI, specialist, or surgical consultation as appropriate.
She is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Chiropractic Associations. She is an Ontario Chiropractic Association Research and Knowledge Translation committee member.
Dr. Gillies is married and a proud mother of two. She regularly spends time with her family on the trails, hiking, running, biking, or skiing.
Dr. Heimbecker was born and raised in Orangeville and is excited to join the Village Chiropractic team. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Through their co-operative education program, she has held teaching positions at Centennial College, University of Waterloo’s Professional Development Program, and Humber College’s Human Anatomy Lab. After completing her undergraduate degree, she became certified as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology. She graduated summa cum laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. Her treatment methods consist of diversified adjusting and mobilization techniques, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation exercise, acupuncture, and education. She strives to empower patients to live healthy active lifestyles while managing pain and improving motion and strength. Emma is a former Ottawa Valley stepdance instructor and is classically trained in piano and voice. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, baking, and spending time with her dogs.
Dr. Kawun graduated from the University of Guelph Humber with an Honours Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Kinesiology as well as a diploma in Fitness & Health Promotion in 2015 and subsequently obtained his chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in the Spring of 2021. Dr. Kawun is currently working under a provisional license until the successful completions of his board exams at the end of the summer. He was fortunate to have completed several sports therapy internships while in university and worked for two years as a Licensed Kinesiologist. Dr. Kawun understands the importance of exercise to maintain muscle strength, flexibility and injury prevention. He offers a variety of treatment options including diversified manual therapy, soft tissue therapy, rehabilitation, and education.
He has made Orangeville his home and is excited to join Village Chiropractic. He is a firm believer in preventive health care and in maintaining a good level of fitness and mobility and looks forward to working with the team and our patients to provide best-in-class chiropractic services. When not working, Dr. Kawun can be found playing hockey, cycling, or hiking the trails year-round with his fiancée and their dog Echo
